Playing D&D in Thailand

Introduction

Thailand has a growing tabletop community — locals, expats, and travelers who want a night of dice and story. Most pickup games organize on Facebook. English and Thai tables both exist; Chiang Mai and Bangkok are the densest hubs, but posts from other cities get replies too.

You do not need a paid booking to play. This guide starts with free group finders, then covers in-person play at Game Tree Cafe in Chiang Mai, and ends with how to schedule a hosted seat if you want a table waiting for you.

What this guide covers

Free groups first. Hosted games are optional — use them when you want less coordination and a seat ready on a known night.

Who this is for

Beginners, tourists between flights, and regulars looking for a new table. If you already know a local group, great — if not, the next step is where most people start.
